What skills you learned during your time working in M&A have you found to be most transferable to your work as a hedge fund analyst? Did you feel as though M&A prepared you well for your current role, or was it a big change?
I ask because I know that hedge funds are keen to recruit experienced management consultants and investment bankers, but unsure as to whether that is because these roles teach you all the technicals you need, or whether it is more/also because these types of roles are similarly demanding and so they can trust people from these roles have excellent discipline and conscientiousness needed to thrive in HF.
