Hi all,

I thought it would be worthwhile to make some kind of formal introduction here.

A little bit about myself: I'm a non-UK citizen living in London for the past 6 years. Initially I was part of the graduate class of a boutique M&A firm. I worked there for 2 years, on a mix of sell-side and buy-side mandates before moving to a mid-size multi-family office (sub $1Bn, Asian-backed).

Now considering my next steps (move job, MBA, strike out on my own) and contributing to some blogs online.

Welcome @ilovefrankee! What is your most probable plan? If you do an MBA, would you do that in the UK or let's say the US? Any entrepreneurial ideas you have in mind that you'd work on?

Howdy,

Honestly, it's hard for me to say right now which is more likely. I'm feeling out a couple of roles through the New Year (mid-market PE most likely). At the same time, I'm in the middle of GMAT prep and also hoping to sit that in the New Year. Add on top of that some freelance consulting I've started on this year and you can see why I'm not to sure what my next steps are!

For an MBA I would almost certainly look outside the UK - for the simple reason that I've done 6 years in London (and loved it) but I'd prefer to take the opportunity to experience a new city. New York as a destination appeals for obvious reasons but doesn't rank as highly as some of its American brethren. I can't help but find myself drawn to INSEAD as an institution but again, I'd love to spend some time in the United States.

Maybe I'll post here in the New Year with an update!

I see. I don't know much about INSEAD but I do about US colleges, actually I studied abroad there for a full year during my undergrad. It was a great experience, teachers were awesome and people are much nicer than in Europe which makes it a very good atmosphere. Viva America.

Best of luck with your endeavours and surely let us know how you move on!
